***Due to COVID, we are only working on two community food solutions projects for the growing season. We will have occasional short term agri-tinkering projects that require volunteers. So if this category interests you in general, please sign up and we will be sure to email you when one-off volunteer opportunities arise. We are also seeking to relationship build with coders and engineers who have an interest serving as a robotics/STEM mentor via Zoom. WiseTribe seeks Engineers, Techies, Makers, and DIYers to join us in building & maintaining food solutions with South Tech Preparatory Academy, a Title 1 school in Boynton Beach, and Cason Community Garden, one of South Florida’s largest organic gardens. We are seeking dedicated volunteer teams of approximately 5 to 7 “agri-tinkers” to support the following individual food tech projects: FarmBot is a semi-autonomous backyard farming robot that maintains all the functions of a family-sized garden bed. Utilizing 3-axis CNC technology, FarmBot does everything from planting to watering to weeding - all but picking and eating! We seek project based support with programming, administering, and maintaining a FarmBot at a Cason Community Garden in Delray Beach. This project requires an ongoing commitment for this growing season from mid November to mid April 2021 with approximately 4 to 5 hours required per month per teammate. Requires previous coding and/or engineering experience. Aquaponics is a form of agriculture that combines raising fish in tanks (recirculating aquaculture) with soilless plant culture (hydroponics). We are seeking a small team of approximately 3 to 4 enthusiasts to support setting up and maintaining an aquaponic learning demo at Cason Community Garden mid November to mid April 2021. Responsibilities entail supporting installation and on-going maintenance. Requires 5 to 6 hours monthly and previous experience with aquaponic, gardening, aquariums or pond management as huge plus.

Co-create a Garden Gate and make the world a wiser pace. These upcylced vertical veggie and herb gardens are made from cast-off wood pallets and plastic bottles. They are upcycled and co-created by a community of people which WiseTribe coordinates to source and process the materials to repurpose them into Garden Gates. This collaborative, creative re-use adventure lets volunteers work "alone together" as there is a lot to volunteer-contribute from home. Each Garden Gate sold helps fund our community gardening programs. #UnitedWeGrow #Maker #AgriTinkerer
